President's Letter

Jackie Portman | Published on 4/1/2021
Happy spring! Spring has always been my favorite season; new life, blooming flowers, and iridescent green grass just fills me with hope. And I believe our club has so much to feel hopeful about now!

So many of you have gotten vaccines and are now able to visit with friends and loved ones. You also may feel more comfortable to travel!

We received our requested Journeys for 2022: 2 Inbounds and 2 Outbounds. Please consider becoming a Journey Coordinator for our Outbound Richmond, VA journey, or an Inbound JC for Long Island or our special Adult-Child journey from Japan.

Our next General Meeting will finally be in person! We’ll meet for a social gathering on at 1:30. (see calendar for details)

We Eat Out (WEO) is returning! Lauren has reserved tables at Arigato’s in La Mesa for LUNCH on April 21 at 11:30 so we can be together. (see calendar for details)

We are finally making plans for traveling! At our April 17 meeting, JC Peggy Miller will have sign-ups if you are interested in going on the Cheyenne, WY journey. We are still working on the date, but we’re looking at late September.

While we plan our get-togethers and journeys, the Board is very conscious of all the members’ safety. At the last Board meeting, the Board members voted that our club members must be fully vaccinated to go on the Cheyenne journey. We have also stated that we will only stay at hosts’ home if we know they are fully vaccinated. We will reevaluate this policy as we plan for other journeys and follow the CDC guidelines.

Wishing you are also filled with hope from now forward,
Jackie
