I love hearing Friendship Force members asking each other the same question, “Did you get your vaccine yet?” Hope of traveling and getting together is on the horizon! But not quite yet. We have had to cancel our Valentine picnic at Balboa Park because we are still in the “Purple Tier”. The CDC states that members of more than 3 families cannot meet up yet. We will look forward to when we can celebrate being together! Our January Zoom General Meeting was very well attended. The presentation was a video by our FFI CEO, Jeremi Snook, explaining the upcoming vision and therefore changes for our organization. We’ll be discussing this again later in the year, so stay tuned. One of the major visions of Friendship Force is, of course, to get to know members of other clubs. They emphasize being able to get together virtually. I’m happy to tell you the San Francisco and Bay Area club has invited us to get together virtually with them on March 3 at 4:00 PM. Put it on your calendar so we can have a strong representation from our club! Also, the Florida Suncoast club has invited us to Zoom in on their February 20, 11:00 AM presentation of “Staying Safe While Traveling.” I hope you can make it to our next Zoom General Meeting on February 20 at 2:00 PM. The other night I was browsing our Friendship Force San Diego website and spent about ½ hour reminiscing through photos of our past journeys and of ambassadors who have visited us. I was also looking at the difference between the online directory and the printable version. I thought it would be great to have a refresher on how to navigate our own website. Our webmaster, Bob Traber, has graciously agreed to guide us through our website from beginning to end – from Googling our site to logging in (Do you know your Log In and Password?) to “drilling” down to view Board minutes and all the past journeys we’ve hosted and gone on. And if we have time after the presentation, a game – “Where in the World is Friendship Force San Diego?” See you at the meeting!
