2018 is Here!

President’s Message

Two thousand eighteen is here! Ready or not. Here we go. Friendship Force is a changing. Now we have journeys instead of exchanges. We have journey coordinators instead of exchange directors. When will it end? Probably never.

Last May I attended the 2017 President’s meeting in Santa Barbara and meet some wonderful, hardworking, dedicated people. I will tell you about that at our general meeting in February. Also for the January meeting I plan to bring for browsing some of the oldest historical items - photos, newsletters, etc., Last July I attended the World Conference in Manchester, U.K. I plan to report on that at the March meeting. There will be no board meeting or general meeting in February as we will be busy hosting the folks from Flathead Valley, Montana.

Brenda Pearson is serving as program chair for 2018. Bob Traber is our new historian. Shirley Jobb has agreed to work with membership. Four new members are Sandy Sullivan, Joan Stein, Dorte Eichhorst and Dottie Jefferies.

Let us welcome two thousand eighteen with a smile as we walk down memory lane. Let us have a happy attitude and create a culture of gratitude. Let us remember the good times we have shared. As we plan our path to the future we must see problems not as stop signs but as guide lines, To quote John Wooden: “For success….. there must be a level of friendship. It is a powerful force that comes mutual esteem, respect and devotion.”

Peace,
Sandra Williams, President
