October Message from Tom

Published on 10/1/2016
BOO! Welcome to the cool and crisp weather of Fall in San Diego. HA!

We are hosting our friends from Northern Colorado this October 12th - 17th. We had a nice visit to their club and we hope to show them a good time here. I hope you’ve all found a place to plug into that experience, (especially our new members). If not, don’t be scared to give me a call to get involved! Hope to see you there!

I’ve received many pleasant remarks about our Cuba speaker of last month’s meeting – Thanks! We also had sign-up’s for our March, 2017 Outbound International  “Partner” Exchange to Vietnam which will be a unique and different (for us) style of Exchange opportunity. It is part cruise, part home-stay(s) and part tour. We need to get hopping on this. They need our money by December, so this month of October is your last chance to sign up before we open this Exchange up to other Friendship Force clubs in November. If you want to join our Exchange, (and perhaps an extension to somewhere else in exotic South East Asia) call Brenda Pearson now!

Then on Saturday, November 5th from 11:30-2:30 (at our usual Chula Vista Golf Course Club House venue), we have our annual Installation of Officers Luncheon. It has been my honor and privilege to serve as your president this year. Come to the luncheon to hear my report and enjoy some last minute heckling! Call Judy Anderson to RSVP. Please bring your check book with you to pay for your reservation to the Holiday Party and your next year’s Dues are Due in November. Save the date for our Holiday Party on Saturday, December 17, from 1:00 - 4:00. It will be a luncheon Fiesta of several Mexican choices (including vegetarian) at Casa De Pico in Grossmont Center and promises to be a Fun time of relaxed fellowship after a busy year, well done by all.
